Serving with The Center for House Church Theology
Hannah has lived in ten cities across three continents and currently lives in South Hamilton, MA with her husband, Trey, who is a professor of Old Testament and Ancient Near Eastern Studies at Gordon-Conwell. They have two daughters.
Despite having called so many different places home, Hannah considers herself a native of Pittsburgh and has strong ties to City Reformed.
If you’re interested in learning more about the Chinese house churches, here are the books the Hannah has written:
Faithful Disobedience: Writings on Church and State from a Chinese House Church Movement. Intervarsity Press, 2022.
Faith in the Wilderness: Words of Exhortation from the Chinese Church. Kirkdale Press, 2022.
The Good News We Preach: Gospel Truth in Modern China. Metuchen, New Jersey: China Partnership, 2021.
Grace to the City: Studies in the Gospel from China. Metuchen, New Jersey: China Partnership, 2019.
PRAYER REQUESTS:
1) Pray for Chinese house churches in the midst of increased harassment and persecution. Pray particularly for pastors and their families.
2) Pray for their publishing work to continue and grow. Pray especially for publishing projects that would help connect China’s house churches with persecuted churches in other parts of the world.
3) Pray for Hannah to be secure in Jesus as she takes on more leadership roles. Pray for wisdom and endurance especially.
4) Pray for the Nation family as they continue to adjust to life in the Boston metro area. Praise that God has provided them with a good house, a good community of friends, and please pray for opportunities to share the Gospel with neighbors.
5) Pray for Trey and Hannah as they both formally and informally mentor seminarians on Gordon-Conwell’s campus. Pray for a new generation of healthy church leadership to be raised up.
