Serving with The Center for House Church Theology

Hannah loves bringing attention to people and places that it’s hard to hear from. She is the Managing Director for The Center for House Church Theology, which seeks to share the voices of the Chinese house churches with the global church. She first traveled to China in 2005, and has worked with Chinese scholars in a variety of capacities both in China and the United States.

Hannah has lived in ten cities across three continents and currently lives in South Hamilton, MA with her husband, Trey, who is a professor of Old Testament and Ancient Near Eastern Studies at Gordon-Conwell. They have two daughters.

Despite having called so many different places home, Hannah considers herself a native of Pittsburgh and has strong ties to City Reformed.

Pray that God supplies all needs according to His riches, bringing in faithful, monthly partners.
Ask that God opens hearts to be generous and receptive to the vision, creating positive, fruitful relationships.
Pray for confidence as they fundraise and clarity in communicating their calling without fear or awkwardness.
Pray for God to lead them to the right people to partner with them, including churches and individuals.

Future Travel

Hannah has at least four confirmed international trips between September and May. Ask for wisdom to discern which trips she should go on and which ones she should decline.
Pray for clear direction, discernment, and energy to fulfill her ministry goals without feeling overwhelmed.

Increased Persecution

Pray for believers to remain strong and unshakable in their faith despite the pressure to renounce it.
Pray that house churches and their gatherings remain undetected by authorities.
Pray for pastors and church leaders who face harassment, imprisonment, or forced surveillance.
Pray that authorities and government officials will treat Christians with leniency rather than hostility.
Pray for those jailed for their faith, asking for their release and for God’s comfort in harsh conditions.
